Holly I usually use Masterpiece eyes so obviously I am not prone to cheapin' out on the eyes! Polyester roving maybe--but not eyes! I agree--"Windows to the soul" yada yada yada...Anyhow I called them and they don't have the ones with the veins in any size smaller than 16 mm, which is too lange for what I am looking for right now. So I went with the 8000. I think I may order one of the veined pairs though to use on a larger doll later--maybe even a life size! Kathi

Or you can just go to the "what's new" page, click on any of the pictures that Ali just loaded, and it will take you directly to her album. Kathi, You aren't getting off the hook that easy girl! The eyes I prefer are the 1001's . They have fine red blood vessels that look very real. They cost more, but in the long run, what is $5 or $10 more in the total cost of your sculpture? I used some cheaper eyes on a piece recently and it's just not the same. The cheaper eyes just look so opaque. The 1001's have a translucent quality that just makes them seem so real. Plus the cheaper eyes maybe have two or three colors in them. The 1001's are made up of many many colors just like a real eye. Sometimes I cut corners on things to save a buck or two but I don't think the eyes are the place to do it. After all the eyes are "the window to the soul". Holly H.

Lisa, Trish, Ev--HELP! Back in the day--well okay the end of last January--Trish was telling us about the polyester batting she uses to wrap her armatures. She said she got it form a factory in Canada. Now i am sure that the shipping would be prohibitive here to the States. BUT Lisa had gotten an email from Ev giving an address and phone number here in the states in Wisconsin. I tried calling them and that number is disconnected. But I called directory assistance and the area code has changed. The new number, and address by the way, is: Montery Mills 1725 E Delavan Drive Janesville, Wisconsin 53546 608-754-2866 Ev--if you can "hear" me--or if you can email me at alltheyear1981@yahoo.com could you tell me what grade I should use? They said "A" was 100% VIRGIN roving, and "B" soemtimes had little bits of yarn or something in it. She did say there wouldn't be any lumps that would be caused by the lower grade. Are they equally as strong? So they will not break when I am wrapping? She wasn't sure. What do you think? Or maybe Trish can answer for you, or Lisa. Or...? And by the way, "I have climbed back into my hole, Trish", I used the babies tights for the PS for Ichabod's body and they were great! I used four pair--two (one top half of the body and one the bottom half) that I needle sculpted, and two more that I covered up the scars from needle sculpting. Talk about easy! I will use that trick again I am sure! I got them at Walmart for three pairs for like three bucks and got them for 40% off last year at the end of the season. I used the newborn size--Ichabod's body was 2" long and it made a super fit! Thank you so much for that tip! Thanks Guys! Now Holly I know you said you used Schoepfer eyes and you to right Sharon? What ones? 7000 or 8000 or economy glass or antique oval or WHAT??? Holly I am never gonna get my goal accomplished if I don't have eyes for the two additional Santas that I want to get done! And you can hold yourself to blame for my failure! And, you guessed it, "That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!" LOL! Disregard any typos please! Thanks Sherry for Your compliment :-) ...when I look at him now he was one of my favorites for some reason. I made the Lamb Pull Toy which works,the wheeels turn.The Rabbit also works . The Cookies,Oranges,Apples I make from Fimo.The Porcelain Doll Kit was assembled,dressed and wigged with Mohair by me.The Face was painted by a Miniaturist.The Outfit is red Velvet and the Leather Boots I also make.The same with the Mittens,they are handknit.The Fur is always recycled . **** Jill,I am sorry I don't have a Close Up ,but as I search for some more pictures today I will post.I do have some Close Ups but I don't think of this one. All of my Santa Pictures/supplies have been packed away and I am just now getting back into making them again. **** Ali,teaching ? not at this point ....I am sooooooooo out of it after all of these Years...LOL .Made a head a few days ago.Tore him all up,startet over.Still not happy....I am going to continue working on one today,hopefully without too many interuptions, Hugs Brigitte

How much weight did you gain staying at Audrey's for 4 days?! When we were there for a visit she and Ed fed us like you can't believe- something about food made with that much care!! So wonderful.
Audrey's video will no doubt be every bit as wonderful as Audrey! Her skill and ability to teach are great. I haven't seen the video yet but plan to buy one and also throw my "former student" applause and backing her way.

Norma, There are some books I would like to suggest to you. They are "Designing the Doll" by Susanna Oroyan, "Finishing the Figure" also by Susanna, and "The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expression" by Gary Faigin. You can get them at Barns & Nobel (or have them order them for you), also your local Library may have them or can order them. A good many of us have these books and use them regularly. Sherry

Thanks, Bonnie, it seemed to take a long time to finish this one. I was wondering if the beaded cream ruffle on the sleeves was too full and long, but the sweet young lady who ordered him didn't want any lace and said she loved that trim, so that's the important thing ! Jill Z

I too would like to encourage you to buy Audrey's video. I also had the priviledge of meeting her personally and she is just great. Her online class was wonderful and the best part is she makes herself available to aid you in anyway she can. I too like Kathi have not been solicited by Audrey to make this statement.
